Hi everybody,

I'm trying to design an emblem resembling a coat of arms in Photoshop CS3. I'm having trouble designing the ribbon with the slogan/text at the bottom of the emblem.
I"ve messed around with designing it as a straight ribbon, placing text on top of it, then trying to curve it with the 'Filter/Distort/Wave' method, but this is not producing the effect I'm after. Could someone perhaps do a tutorial, specifically with regards to these points:

  1. Creating a realistic looking curved banner.
  2. Placing text on top of this banner, thus following the curvature as if it was a printed banner (ie. wrapping text),
  3. Creating this banner to resemble golden (not just yellow with white, supposedly shiny bits like mine) lace or silk?

I've attached a picture of my old South African coat of arms, as I've probably not explained myself well enough.

Kind regards to all who contribute to this site.

Sorry, but this is not a software support forum or a tutorial request area.
